Magpie Locking
Collective Pool
Commit together — quitters pay the holders.
A commitment pool created by an initiator and joined by many. All members face the same commitment condition. Penalties from quitters are distributed among members who hold to the end, proportional to their locked amounts.
Creation Parameters
- Token, commitment condition (time- or price-based), and penalty rate
- Joining deadline: no new members accepted after it passes
- Minimum member threshold: optional — leave empty and the pool starts immediately upon creation
Start Logic
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| Minimum set, reached before deadline | Pool starts automatically and the clock begins |
| Minimum set, not reached by deadline | Pool dissolves automatically; all members fully refunded |
| No minimum set | Starts on creation — the clock begins as soon as someone joins |
Reward Distribution
Penalties accumulate in the contract and are not distributed immediately. When the pool ends, members who held to the end claim all their locked tokens in one transaction, plus their pro-rata share of 90% of accumulated penalties. The platform takes 10%.
End-of-pool distribution perfectly matches magpie-lock culture: only those who hold to the end get rewarded, while quitters watch others split the pot. Pool links are directly shareable in communities — a powerful viral growth tool.
